Overview of K̄N and K̄ - nucleus dynamics

چکیده
The main features of coupled-channel K̄N dynamics near threshold and its repercussions in few-body K̄-nuclear systems are briefly reviewed highlighting the I = 1/2 K̄NN system. For heavier nuclei, the extension of mean-field calculations to multi-K̄ nuclear quasibound states is discussed focusing on kaon condensation.

Chiral SU ( 3 ) dynamics and the quasibound K − pp cluster
The prototype of a K̄ nuclear cluster, K−pp, has been investigated using effective K̄N potentials based on chiral SU(3) dynamics. Variational calculation shows a bound state solution with shallow binding energy B(K−pp) = 20±3 MeV and broad mesonic decay width Γ (K̄NN → πY N) = 40 70 MeV.
